KeepOrCull
Project Overview
KeepOrCull is a web application designed to help board game enthusiasts curate their collections. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the number of games on your shelf or struggled to decide what to trade or sell, this tool is for you. It connects directly to your BoardGameGeek (BGG) profile and provides a streamlined, distraction-free interface to make those tough decisions.

Key Features
Seamless BGG Integration
Simply enter your BoardGameGeek username, and the app fetches your collection automatically. No manual entry required—just ensure your collection is public.

Collection Curation
The app offers different modes to suit your needs:
- One Round of Curation: Go through your entire collection once to do a quick sweep.
- Keep a Specific Number: Set a target (e.g., “I only want 50 games”) and the app will help you whittle it down.
Intuitive Swipe Interface
Inspired by dating apps, KeepOrCull uses a “swipe” mechanism to help you make gut-level decisions:
- Swipe Right (or click Heart): Keep the game.
- Swipe Left (or click X): Cull the game (mark for trade/sale).
- Maybe (Question Mark): Not sure yet? Defer the decision.

At the end you get the list of games you wan to keep and which ones to get rid of. You can copy the list to your clipboard and the result is stored on you browser. So you can open the app to see your results again until you restart.

Privacy Focused
The app runs entirely in your browser. No personal data is stored on external servers, and your progress is saved locally on your device so you can pick up where you left off.
Why I Built It
As a board gamer myself, I found that my collection was growing faster than I could play it. I needed a tool that would force me to make binary decision keep or cull without getting bogged down in analysis paralysis. By presenting one game at a time, KeepOrCull helps you focus on your immediate reaction to each title in your library.
